SHEFFIELD stage the second semi-final of the British Championships at Owlerton tonight (Thursday, 7.30).

16 riders will battle it out as they aim to finish in the top eight to qualify for next month's British Final at Belle Vue.

Tigers trio Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates and Rob Branford are included in the line-up alongside Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris who have ten British titles between them.

Sheffield co-promoter Peter Mole said: "This meeting holds a lot of prestige for all the riders involved.

"This is the start of the journey for them with places at Belle Vue up for grabs. Of course that then leads to the ultimate goal of becoming British Champion and a Cardiff Grand Prix wild card slot as well.

"To me, the field looks very open with any number of riders in with a chance of moving a step closer to that ultimate prize.

"Sheffield fans have got three of their own Tigers to cheer on. Then there's a mix of experienced campaigners and a couple of potential spoilers as well so there's a fantastic evening in prospect!"

Supporters should note that season tickets are NOT valid for tonight's meeting as it is a BSPA event.
