SHEFFIELD will be looking to extend their unbeaten start at Owlerton when they host Peterborough on Thursday (7.30).

The Window Centre Tigers opened 2017 with an impressive challenge win over top flight Somerset, and have followed that up with two outstanding league results against Berwick and Ipswich.

Another home win over the Panthers would see Sheffield move onto joint points in the SGB Championship table with their opponents – but boss Simon Stead is expecting a tough challenge.

“Peterborough have got a strong looking team and I’m not expecting it to be plain sailing at all,” Stead said.

“In this year’s Championship there are no easy fixtures at all – but I’d say Peterborough is going to be one of the tougher ones.

“Having said that, we thought that about Ipswich last week and we ran out comfortable winners in the end.

“We just want to keep the ball rolling and hopefully the lads can just continue where they left off last week and keep our run going.”

Sheffield duo Josh Bates and Rob Branford return for the Tigers after missing last Thursday’s win over Ipswich.

Peterborough include Australian Under-21 Champion Jack Holder, 2015 Premier League Riders’ Champion Ulrich Ostergaard and former Sheffield man Simon Lambert.
