SHEFFIELD unveiled Danish rider Nicolai Klindt as a replacement for the injured Andre Compton during the side’s 55-37 win over Rye House at Owlerton.

The 26-year-old has agreed a deal with the Tigers after their club skipper was ruled out for the near future with wrist injuries.

Said Klindt: “I’m really excited about joining Sheffield; they are a very professionally run club and despite all their injury problems they’ve had a really good season.”

That “really good season” continued on Thursday night too as the Tigers recovered from opening heat disappointment to ease to a comfortable win over the Rockets.

The victory means the Tigers maintain their fairly strong position in the play-off places and also ensured that they raced to their tenth meeting unbeaten at home in all competitions.

Co-promoter Damien Bates said: “Realistically we expected to win tonight and we pulled off a very good win in the end. Rye House battled well at times but for one reason or another they never seem to travel well here.

“It was a great team performance and everybody scored well. Even though Paco (Castagna) only scored two, he deserved a better score than that but that will come with time.

“It’s another big win and we can take plenty of confidence from this meeting; we’re in a pretty strong position but we’re not taking anything for granted just yet.”

In-form reserve Josh Bates continued his remarkable run of scores as he bagged paid double-figures for a sixth consecutive Tigers’ team meeting at Owlerton and winning five of his six outings.

French star David Bellego enjoyed another impressive performance in front of the Tigers faithful while guest Brady Kurtz proved a class act at No.1 yet again.

Jason Garrity recovered from a first heat exclusion to pick up three paid wins while Arthur Sissis had another encouraging night on track.

Paco Castagna endured a tough Premier League debut for the Tigers, but will have learnt plenty ahead of the upcoming meetings against Workington and Scunthorpe.
