SHEFFIELD are out to avoid an unwanted hat-trick on Thursday when play-off hopefuls Workington come to town.

The Sheffield Window Centre side have been humbled twice on their own patch in the last two weeks and now they will have to up their game to avoid a third consecutive defeat against a side who have already stolen a win at Owlerton this year.

Tigers chief Neil Machin has called on his side to step up to the plate and give the home fans something to cheer about again.
He said: “We demand a much improved overall performance from the team this week, two home defeats in a row is unacceptable but three would be a disaster.

“We have thrown away wins at home this year and we absolutely cannot afford another one, so it’s time for the team to step up now.”

Sheffield are again without Pepe Franc and Emiliano Sanchez, with Australian Kevin Doolan stepping in to the number one jacket for the night and Sanchez’s absence being covered by the rider replacement facility.

TIGERS: Kevin Doolan (G), Hugh Skidmore, Rider Replacement, Richard Hall, Ricky Wells, Chris Schramm, Joe Haines.

WORKINGTON: Richard Lawson, Rider Replacement, Rene Bach, Tero Aarnio, Adam Roynon, Ashley Morris, Guest TBC.
